One of the most popular neighborhoods on the Eastside, spend a day in Silver Lake and it's easy to fall in love. Of note is the Silver Lake Reservoir, where locals flock to take a scenic stroll, or make furry friends at the dog park. At the heart is Sunset Junction - a hot spot for Silver Lake's restaurants, shops, and coffeeshops. The crowd here is quite eccentric, which makes it a prime neighborhood for the arts and creative expression.
Cafe Stella - Situated directly beneath the Sunset Junction sign is this adorable French bistro that has become a staple of the Silver Lake scene. I have enjoyed it for lunch or dinner, and later at night you can mosey through to the other side, Bar Stella, for after-dinner drinks in a cozy atmosphere.
Clare V - Made right here in Los Angeles, designer Clare Vivier opened her flagship store on Sunset Boulevard in 2012 and has since expanded nationwide. Expect to find chic and coveted wares like suede totes, colorful clutches, and travel accessories, featuring a classically Parisian influence.
Botanica - Quintessentially on brand for the area, at Botanica you can do it all. Offering coffee + tea, lunch, and dinner, you can also shop their market featuring organic wine, beer, veggies, and more. It’s very cozy and cute inside, as many Silver Lake hotspots are.
The Sweat Spot - Need an unconventional workout? The Sweat Spot is an amazing, inclusive dance studio where you can take classes ranging from “Contemporary Ballet” to “Twerkshop”. Owned by acclaimed dancer/choreographer Ryan Heffington, my personal favorite is his contemporary class on 8:30pm Wednesday nights.
