Los Feliz is a desirable Eastside neighborhood filled with diverse and notable architecture. Located just below Griffith Park at the East end of the Santa Monica Mountains, with the Observatory shining overhead, it’s the perfect dividing line between Hollywood and Echo Park/Silver Lake. It also happens to be the neighborhood where my office is based - right on Hillhurst amidst all the action.
Griffith Park Hiking Trails - Griffith Park is one of my favorite places to hike in the city. There are several different trails, ranging in length and difficulty, and it provides some of the best views from DTLA to Burbank. A great place to start or end your hike is at the Griffith Observatory, made famous in James Dean's Rebel Without a Cause.
Little Dom's - Delicious Italian-American dining in a romantic yet casual setting. Little Dom's is a great place to take your parents or a first date. Or, if you're enjoying a daytime picnic, they serve the perfect deli fare ranging from sandwiches to pickled green tomatoes to seasonal jams.
Stamp Proper Foods - Classic, healthy, California food in a laid back, meet-your-friend-for-lunch kind of atmosphere. Working on the go? Post up with your laptop and the fantastic avocado tuna salad, and take a LA PB&J smoothie to go.
Liberate Emporium - For when you just need a rose quartz or an impromptu tarot reading to guide you through your day.
