Echo Park sits adjacent to Silver Lake, with a similar personality, so sometimes the lines can get blurred. It encompasses micro neighborhoods like Angelino Heights, a hub of charming Victorian homes, and Historic Filipinotown. You can’t miss Echo Park lake, where you can rent a swan-shaped paddleboat and take it out for a spin - pretty much my idea of a good time. Echo Park is a great place to grab lunch with a friend, catch a Dodger’s game, browse a thrift store, or hike Elysian Park.
Echo Park Favorites:
Honey Hi - Honey Hi is exactly the type of healthy meal us Angelenos tend to crave. Organic and mostly locally-sourced, you can eat well and feel good as you continue about your day. Try the Miso Bowl with a "Merman" smoothie to wash it down.
Echo Park Lake - As mentioned above, it's a must-see in the neighborhood.
Guisados - LA is known for having some of the best tacos around. If you're in the market, many will point you in the direction of Guisados. Though born in nearby Boyle Heights, the Echo Park location is prime for a pre-Dodger's-game Tinga de Pollo on a delicious homemade tortilla.
