Atwater Village is a true neighborhoody-neighborhood, growing rapidly in desirability over the last few years. Residents love their walkability to bustling Glendale Blvd, offering restaurants, coffeeshops, and more. There’s a lovely, small farmer’s market every Sunday from 10-2 - bring your knives for sharpening.
Viet Noodle Bar - Viet’s chicken pho is one of my go-tos as soon as I start to feel a little under the weather or if the June Gloom is getting me down. The turmeric fish noodle is also a popular dish, but this is one of those places where I always order one thing and never veer from it.
Palette Food and Juice - Too hot for soup? Nearby Palette offers one of my favorite fancy build-your-own salads. When I’m really on a health kick, they are one of the few places that gets me pumped to eat salad. Add bison, tempeh, or a pickled egg (so clutch) and really go for it!
Heartbeat House - I have taken a couple wonderful exercise classes at Heartbeat House, offering classes ranging from “Yoga Booty Ballet” to Afro-Funk dance to HIIT cardio.
